EGS, the leading providers of electronic Procurement and electronic invoicing solutions, announced today that The London Borough of Enfield has selected EGS, to provide an eProcurement marketplace and an electronic invoice management solution. Enfield is the seventh London Borough to choose EGS's market-leading platform to provide eProcurement and eInvoicing solutions.
Delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), the end-to-end solution is set to go live by June 2009. The solution will enable the council to reduce purchasing costs, improve compliance and automate many expensive and time consuming processes.
EGS's solution will be integrated directly into Enfield's SAP infrastructure. This will allow Enfield's SAP users to directly access suppliers on the EGS platform, compare prices and purchase from multiple suppliers in a single shopping basket. EGS currently hosts content from 22,000 suppliers. Leveraging EGS's supplier connections will save Enfield a huge task and a significant sum of money. Over coming months, EGS will further enable hundreds of Enfield's local, regional and national suppliers of all sizes, not currently on the EGS platform, to trade electronically and directly with Enfield for the first time.
EGS will also complete the 'return journey' in the transaction lifecycle - by enabling suppliers of all sizes and of varying levels of technical capability, to submit electronic invoices to Enfield's SAP system via EGS's platform. Rather than have to handle a variety of supplier eInvoice formats, EGS's platform provides a single transmission funnel for eInvoices into SAP.
Automated receipt, processing and approval of electronic invoices will deliver cashable savings for Enfield, as it no longer needs to spend hundreds of hours re-keying, batching and manually approving paper invoices.
Purchasing data collected by the IDeA:marketplace will help the authority to make better-informed decisions on contracts and procurement strategy. The solution will also deliver environmental savings in paper, postage and delivery, while e-archiving means there's no longer any need to store hundreds of thousands of invoices for years.
"With EGS, we're able to get the most from our SAP investment and deliver outstanding savings to our citizens, while speeding up payments to our valued suppliers," said James Rolfe, Director of Finance & Corporate Resources for the London Borough of Enfield.
"EGS's solution takes our purchase-to-pay strategy to the next level, removing the roadblocks to a streamlined, end-to-end solution that maximises efficiency. It was evident to us that EGS's technology and approach was the best available and that they are the best fit with local government requirements. We also selected them for their professionalism and domain knowledge in managing business-critical projects successfully. We believe EGS will play a big part in helping us to make the important decisions in this implementation"
Adrian Gibson, Business Development Director at EGS, commented: "We're delighted to be leading another deployment of our solution with SAP. This is our seventh partnership with a London Borough and we look forward to working with Enfield."
